On 20th January 2024, the second UAE Boulderfest was held at Tawiyan with more than 60 climbers coming together to boulder on more than 120 routes on 37 blocs. There were also 2 new sponsors at the event.
Geardoor is a new UAE gear company focused on the outdoor adventure who offered 3 raffle prizes to participants along with special discounts limited to the community.
Full Crimp Milk is a Singaporean apparel, liquid chalk, and skin care brand that offered free liquid chalk samples.
It was great to see many familiar faces and climbers who became experienced with the Tawiyan style of bouldering were easily able to finish routes that took them multiple attempts in the past.
The stronger climbers in the group were able to repeat a few of the difficult classic problems in the area which helped to confirm the initial grading for these routes.
